Лягушка-бык — самая крупная из лягушек, живущих в Северной Америке: тело ее достигает в длину 20 см, а ноги — 25! Водится она по берегам рек, заросших кустарником. При опасности прыгает в воду.

Кормится насекомыми, пауками, моллюсками. Бывает, ест рыбешку, птенцов, других земноводных — всех, кого только может осилить. Настоящая хищница!
